The company also failed to include bonuses paid to employees when they calculated overtime compensation which is another violation of federal law according to The Fair Labor Standards Act. Kinder Morgan and Kinder Morgan Energy Partners have agreed to pay $830,000 in back wages to 4,659 current and former employees. The Kinder Morgan spokesman said, “We have reached a settlement with the DOL that we believe is in the best interest of the company and our employees.”
