In this case, Charles Jackson was on the Pradaxa medication for three weeks and then experienced internal bleeding. His physicians told him to stop taking the medication after he had a stroke last September. After several months, Charles Jackson who was a retired truck driver from Hohenwald saw a television ad for patients who have had problems with Pradaxa about becoming part of a lawsuit against the maker of the drug.

Charles Jackson is now just one of several hundred people all across the country that are joining forces against the maker of Pradaxa. Emily Baier, a spokeswoman for Pradaxa, did not comment on the lawsuit, but she did state that safety is the company’s first priority. Pradaxa has been faced with warnings and concerns from doctors and advocacy groups ever since it has been linked to three thousand seven hundred and eighty-one dangerous side effects as well as five hundred and forty-two deaths reported to the Food and Drug Administration last year. The Food and Drug Administration is currently performing a safety review of Pradaxa.

Roy Heady of Cookeville, Tennessee was hospitalized for a hemorrhage after changing his medication from Coumadin to Pradaxa. He was told to stop taking the medication but continues to suffer from internal bleeding from taking Pradaxa. Heady stated that, “I thought it would lessen the headache of being on Coumadin, but it ended up creating more of a headache.” These cases are typical of what we believe may be the result of a possible dangerous drug, Pradaxa.
