Police Officers File Lawsuit against County for Overtime Pay

According to this lawsuit, police officers worked their full time jobs with the Sheriff’s Department but also worked for the Parks and Recreation Department part time patrolling park properties and responding to complaints. The officers claim that all the hours should be counted together and this would mean that they worked overtime hours and should receive the proper time and a half for those hours.
The police officers also state that any specialty or proficiency pay they received should be included as their normal pay and calculated to figure out their overtime pay. Sheriff John Buncich and the Parks and Recreation Department have been named in the lawsuit.
